Program
Each day of the week is dedicated to one aspect of theater, so that children can explore all facets of the stage. At the beginning of the week, games of expression and improvisation break the ice and allow each child to familiarize themselves with the stage. In the middle of the week, students are introduced to stage direction, dialogue and character creation. The weekend is devoted to preparing the final show, presented to families on Friday afternoon. The whole program combines learning, creativity, fun and team spirit.
Throughout the week, the emphasis is on play and fun. This theater workshop is above all an educational leisure activity where children learn while having fun. The days are packed, but also include well-deserved relaxation breaks. At the end of the week, participants leave with stars in their eyes, memories in their heads and, why not, a new passion for theater!

Additional practical information
- Timetable: Each day generally begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Children are welcomed from 9:00 am, and parents can pick them up until 4:15 pm. On Fridays, a special presentation is scheduled at the end of the day (around 5:30 p.m.) for the final show with families.
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Each child brings his or her own picnic lunch. A break of about an hour is planned at midday, under the supervision of the supervisors. Lunchtime is a convivial occasion: participants eat together, which also contributes to the group spirit of the camp. Morning and afternoon snacks can be provided by parents if desired. Please inform the team if you have any food allergies.
- Accommodation: This is a non-residential camp. No accommodation is provided on site, as this is not a full summer camp with lodging. Children return home each evening after the activities. Day camps are not overnight camps. It lets you enjoy an intensive artistic stay during the day, while returning to the comfort of your family in the evening.
- Insurance: Adequate accident and liability cover must be arranged by parents. Please ensure that your child is adequately covered during camp activities.
- Fees and payment : The fee for the full week (5 days) is CHF 490.00. Full payment is required before the start of the camp to validate registration. Flexible payment options are available on request.
How do I register my child for theater camp and what are the payment terms?
Registration is just a few clicks away. Simply fill in the registration form on our website and select the desired course session. Once the form has been validated, you'll receive a confirmation e-mail with details of the course and the amount to be paid. Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer. We require payment before the start of the course to guarantee your child's place. If you have any problems with payment, please do not hesitate to contact us: we are here to listen to parents and find a solution together.
What is the age requirement for this theater workshop? Do you offer activities for younger children or older teenagers?
This camp is for children aged 8 to 14, generally from elementary school to early high school. It is not suitable for toddlers or babies. A baby or kindergarten child would be far too young to participate, as the activities require a certain school-age maturity. For younger children under the age of 8, we offer other early-learning workshops, but not an intensive course of this type. Similarly, older teenagers (15-17) or adults who would like to take up acting can opt for regular teen/adult courses. Please contact us to find out about course options for each age group - our Apolline School of the Arts has something for everyone, from toddlers to teens and adults!
How many children per group do you welcome at this camp?
We limit our groups to around 12 to 14 children per session. This small group size ensures quality learning and personalized attention to each child. With a small group, the teacher can pay attention to everyone and adapt the work to individual needs. It's ideal for interactive workshops: participants can express themselves fully, whether in group games or duo exercises. Working in small groups also creates a close-knit group atmosphere where everyone finds their place. As a result, even the shyest participants quickly feel at ease when they take to the stage.
My child is a beginner in theater. Is that a problem?
Not at all! This theater camp is open to complete beginners as well as to young people with previous stage experience. Our teachers adapt the course content to the level and experience of the participants. If your child has never taken part in the theater before, he or she will be guided step by step in the discovery of stage acting through playful activities. If they've already taken courses or workshops, they'll be able to build on what they've learned and take on new challenges. The important thing is that everyone progresses at their own pace and enjoys themselves. The mix of levels is also an asset: beginners learn from the more advanced, and conversely, the initiated consolidate their basics by helping the novices. It's a win-win situation for all concerned, with the added bonus of great friendships forged over the vacations!
What measures do you take to ensure the safety and well-being of children at camp?
Children's safety and well-being are our top priority. Supervision is provided by trained, caring and attentive professionals. The premises meet current safety standards (emergency exits, adapted equipment, areas designed for youngsters' leisure activities). We take care to establish a climate of trust from the very first day, so that each child feels as though he or she is at school, but in a fun, relaxed environment. There are regular breaks (morning, lunch, afternoon) to allow participants to rest. If a participant is tired or a little anxious, we adapt the pace accordingly. In addition, a first-aid kit is available on site in case of any minor injuries, and we ask parents to inform us of any medical or dietary particularities before the start of the course. In short, everything is done to ensure that our youngsters enjoy their camp in a safe, healthy and fulfilling environment.
Is there anything in particular we need to provide for meals or equipment?
As far as meals are concerned, as mentioned in the practical information section, each child must bring a picnic lunch. Please bring a simple meal that your child likes and can easily eat (sandwiches, salad, cold dish, etc.), as well as a water bottle. We provide water on site for refills, and there's a fridge to keep picnics cool if necessary. For snacks, feel free to slip in a piece of fruit or a cookie for the afternoon break. As far as equipment is concerned, everything you need for the theater is provided by our team: props, basic costumes, scenery, etc. Your child can come in casual clothes, suitable for free movement (avoid tight skirts or jeans, prefer a training-type outfit). If a small costume or specific accessory is required for the final show, we'll let you know during the week, but we usually already have everything you need in our art workshop treasure chest!
How does this theater workshop contribute to my child's personal development?
Drama is an activity with multiple benefits for developing young people. Through this workshop, your child will gain self-confidence, improve oral expression and learn to work as part of a team. Every exercise has an educational purpose: improvisations stimulate the imagination, role-playing develops empathy, and getting up on stage helps overcome shyness. Many parents report that, after a week's theater training, their child is more daring to speak in public, whether at school or at home. It's a fun way to learn, but it's also a kind of gentle therapy: by having fun, children express their emotions and gain confidence in their abilities. For some young people, this stage practice acts as a real therapy against shyness. Our program is designed to make the most of each participant: there's no competition, just the pleasure of creating together. At the end of the week, when we put on a show, you'll be able to measure the progress you've made. In addition to artistic skills, this camp provides real life skills: listening to others, managing stage fright, creativity and memory training. It's an enriching leisure experience that will leave a positive mark on your child long after the vacations.
What is your cancellation or refund policy in the event of an impediment?
In the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing your child from taking part in the camp, please notify us as soon as possible. For cancellations received at least 10 days before the start of the camp, we offer a full refund of the registration fees already paid. If cancellation occurs less than 10 days before the start of the camp, a partial refund (50%) may be considered, with the remainder covering costs incurred and the impossibility of replacing another participant at short notice. In the event of cancellation during the week (e.g. due to illness), we will consider a credit note for a future course on a case-by-case basis. Our aim is to be understanding towards parents while ensuring the smooth running of our courses. Some insurances offer cancellation cover, so it's a good idea to check with your insurer to see if you're already covered :)
Will there be an end-of-course show for parents and family?
Yes, absolutely! The highlight of the week is the show on Friday afternoon. This final show is the culmination of the entire troupe's work during the camp. Parents, siblings, grandparents and friends are warmly invited to attend. It's a moment of family sharing not to be missed: you'll be able to see your child in front of an audience, fulfilled and proud to show you what he or she has learned. The performance is generally short (around 30 minutes) and suitable for young audiences. Don't forget to bring your camera or smartphone to immortalize this beautiful moment! Children love performing in front of their families, and your applause will be the best reward for their week's efforts.
Do you offer discounts for siblings or multiple registrations from the same family?
Yes, we encourage families to register more than one child! If you register more than one child from the same family (brothers, sisters), you get a 10% discount on the course price from the second child onwards. For example, if you register three children, the first pays the full price, and the next two each get a 10% discount. This offer is valid for registration in any summer camp during a specific period (February - Easter - Summer - October). It's our way of thanking parents for their trust. Please note that this sibling discount cannot be combined with other promotions.
Is this theater camp offered in other cities like Geneva or elsewhere in Switzerland?
At present, our intensive theater camp is offered in Lausanne and Etoy during the summer. We don't yet offer this course in Geneva in its pure theater version, but we do organize musical comedy camps there. If you live in the canton of Geneva or outside the canton of Vaud, Lausanne is easily accessible (by train or freeway), and many parents from the Geneva region travel to our camps. As our arts school is active throughout the French-speaking part of Switzerland, we are looking into the possibility of developing theater camps in Geneva or other cities in the future. In the meantime, Lausanne remains the main venue for this camp. Don't hesitate to consult our website or contact us to find out what's on offer in your canton or region: there are other arts activities and workshops (drawing, music, etc.) in several towns in French-speaking Switzerland.
Do you organize other courses during the year, for example during the Easter or autumn vacations?
Yes, in addition to the summer theater camp in Lausanne, we offer artistic workshops and camps throughout the year, including the Easter and autumn (October) vacations. For example, during the Easter vacations, we often offer Manga drawing or musical comedy workshops in Lausanne, Morges or Geneva, so that children can practice their passion even outside summer. We also organize courses during other periods to vary the pleasures: singing camp, drawing & painting camp, etc. Throughout the school year, weekly drama classes are also available in our various branches (Lausanne, Morges, Yverdon in particular). In short, whatever the time of year or the length of the school vacations, there's a good chance we'll be offering an artistic activity for your children. Keep in touch via our website or newsletter to make sure you don't miss out on any new workshop announcements!
Our other school vacation offers
We don't just offer theater! Our vacation camps cover a wide range of artistic activities and disciplines to keep your children creatively occupied throughout the vacations. For example, we organize drawing and painting camps (in Lausanne and Geneva), ideal for creative youngsters who prefer pencils and colors. Fans of comics and manga can join our manga drawing and illustration courses, very popular with pre-teens. For those with a flair for rhythm or who like to sing, we also offer a musical comedy camp combining singing, dancing and acting - an excellent alternative for working on voice and stage expression at the same time.
Other offerings include digital art courses and summer art camps combining several disciplines. Our artistic summer camps, true multi-activity camps without accommodation (just like our theater camp), are organized in the French-speaking part of Switzerland (Lausanne, Geneva, etc.) and enable young people to try their hand at everything: for example, drawing in the morning, theater in the afternoon, over a whole week. Some special workshops even incorporate animal and nature themes (e.g. animal drawing or creations on the theme of fantasy animals), to link art and the living in a playful way. Finally, for teenagers and adults, we also offer more advanced weekly classes in certain disciplines, because a passion for the arts knows no age. Whether you're a couple or a group of friends, we've got something for everyone.
When you choose Apolline, you can be sure of personalized, high-quality supervision and a wide range of activity options to keep your children busy during the vacations in a smart, fun way. Feel free to browse our site to discover all our courses, workshops and camps available in the canton of Vaud, Geneva and the rest of French-speaking Switzerland.
