Born in 2001 in Geneva, Violette Buchs is a multidisciplinary illustrator and graphic designer whose rich universe blends heroic fantasy, fantastic worlds, and graphic design. Lulled during her childhood by Franco-Belgian comic books, she was later inspired by manga and Studio Ghibli animated films. To make her artistic calling a reality, she joined the eikon school, graduating with a CFC in Interactive Media Design in 2024. Following this demanding training, she successfully embarked on a freelance career, skillfully combining her technical skills with her diverse inspirations.
Beyond her academic background, Violette draws a large part of her creative energy from gaming culture. Passionate about miniature games and deeply in love with role-playing games, she constantly ventures into the realms of fantasy. This passion for immersive imagination pushed her to create her own universe, Grouillant, in 2021, and to illustrate her own cards for the famous game Magic the Gathering since 2025. Today, as an accomplished illustrator, she sees creation as a wonderful space for escapism, play, and personal expression—a true bubble of freedom that she strives to pass on and recreate daily for her young students.
Fueled by these collaborative universes where imagination reigns supreme, Violette has a natural ability to connect with and guide younger children in their artistic explorations. She approaches teaching with an open, gentle, and enthusiastic attitude: a lot of listening, a stimulating presence, and a desire to encourage each individual's uniqueness. Whether the desire of the moment is to design a role-playing game character, illustrate a magical trading card, or explore original graphic projects, she adapts to the student's vision. In the classroom, she finds the right balance: one that allows students to progress technically while leaving them the necessary space to fully express their own creativity.
